The Big Wide World

Our whole school focus for the year has been the ‘Big Wide World’.

Children have been learning about the history, customs and celebrations of different countries in order to help prepare them to become global citizens of the future.

The project culminated in a superb showcase, celebrating the differences and similarities in cultures around the world, with performances starting with the whole school singing, followed by the school choir and then individual Year groups.

Each Year group also had their own individual area, where children showcased their learning, offered games and/or activities, and a selection of food related to the country of study. Children had to visit each country, with their 'passport', which was stamped at each place visited and contained a range of activities for children to complete as they travelled around the 'Big Wide World'.
